The B-58 carried three crewmembers, the Pilot (also known as the Aircraft Commander or "AC"), the Radar Navigator/Bombardier (known as the Navigator or "Nav"), and the Defense Systems Operator (known simply as the DSO). All crewmembers sat in encapsulated ejection seats in a tandem arrangement with the pilot in front followed by the navigator and the defense systems operator. The navigation computer was positioned in between the pilot and nav stations as shown in the cutaway illustration below.

The TB-58A trainer version of the Hustler also carried three crewmembers, the Pilot, the Instructor Pilot or "IP", and the Flight Observer, usually a student pilot or pilot receiving flight instruction for currency or other reasons. The TB-58 was not equipped with encapsulated ejection seats, but had standard ejection seats. Other differences included additional windows in the area of the second station and in the second overhead hatch.
