Flight Simulation

Of course, the only way to fly the B-58 Hustler today is to use a flight simulator. It's not as thrilling as the real thing, but you are almost certain to live to tell the tale, which has its advantages! The B-58 flies like any other high performance aircraft in Microsoft FSX with one major exception: it is essential that you control your speed on final approach. If you are too fast, you will bounce and suffer pilot induced oscillation (PIO). If you are too slow, you will promptly stall and will not have enough altitude to recover. It takes some practice but is a lot of fun once you have mastered it. I also typically adjust my viewing position to bring my view slightly to the left of the windshield center post, as it was in the actual airplane.

MARCH 2014 - David Bushell writes to say he has parted company with Alphasim/Virtavia, and has now set up his own website www.glowingheat.co.uk with product pages for the Hustler and other interesting aircraft you can purchase, download, and fly. The Hustler for FSX has been completed and released in full FSX native glory! We were consulted on the earlier versions of what became this product and according to some who had flown the actual B-58 this is a very faithful flight model of the Hustler. We cannot recommend this product highly enough.
